Wes/Drummer
Wes started playing drums at the age of 11 in the jr. high band. Drawing inspiration from genres like
funk, hip-hop, country, and blues developing his unique style. Wes started playing live shows at 19 years
old while attending Del Mar College for his degree in music.
Bailey/lead guitar
Bailey started playing guitar at the age of 15 drawing inspiration from genres like country, rock, and soul
music from the 60s and 70s.
Carlos/bass guitar
Carlos started playing the bassoon at the age of 11 then quickly moved over to the bass guitar. Drawing
his inspiration from genres like heavy metal, rock, funk, and jazz. Carlos came to the band having never
played country music before but was up for the challenge.
The band started with vocalist and rhythm guitar player Carson Miller and drummer Wes Austin just
hanging out and jamming together. Carlos, bass player then came to us through a Facebook post just
looking for someone to jam with. As they played together, they quickly noticed their unique qualities
created a sound that was nothing to scoff at. They played a few gigs here in the coastal bend as a 3-
piece band and that was going great, but it was missing something. Wes then called a longtime friend
and lead guitar player Bailey Konarik who had played in a band with him in the past. To come sit in and
jam at a band practice. It only took them a few songs to realize they had found that missing element and
became what you know today as Carson Miller and The Coastal Cowboys.
